AP Scholars

Each year, The First Academy has a group of Upper School students that distinguish themselves in very conspicuous ways. One of these ways is achievement in the AP courses provided by College Board. The AP Scholars are those students who have scored consistently well on multiple exams. Here are our most recent numbers:

AP Scholars (these are students who scored a 3 or higher on three or more AP Exams): 25 students

AP Scholars with Honors (students who scored an average of 3.25 on all AP Exams and scores of 3.0 or higher on four or more of the exams): 7 students

AP Scholars with Distinction (students who scored an average of 3.5 on all AP Exams and scores of 3.0 or higher on five or more of the exams): 8 students

The First Academy Upper School had 40 students total recognized as AP Scholars. This is over 10% of the Upper School student body. Last year we had over 200 AP tests taken and had 24 tests that were scored as a 5.0 (this is a top score and represents over 10% of all tests taken).

These numbers are certainly strong and are indicative of a robust program that prepares students for the next level.
